Keith and I first met when we both worked for Iron Trades Insurance. Keith joined in 1987 as the filing clerk and tea boy and I began temping in the Claims Department in September 1988. Keith got a promotion to Support Analyst for the Inspectors and I applied for the filing clerk position in the office where Keith worked in 1989.
Keith and I started dating on 31st December 1989 and we got married in June 1994. We had our first child, Grant, the following May and our second child, Victoria, came along in September 1999. We also welcomed a grandson, Harris, in June 2015.
Keith applied to become a Sales Broker at the Leeds Branch of Iron Trades and we moved down in October 1992 and then we moved on to London in October 1994 so Keith could be a Sales Analyst for the City office.
We lived in Sutton, Surrey for 4 years and then moved back home to Scotland in August 1998 when Keith secured a position at Independent Insurance, working directly with Scott in the Glasgow office.
We were going to move to Wales as Keith was offered the opportunity to manage the Cardiff office of Independent but Keith was happy to stay in Wemyss Bay and instead got a job with Hiscox in Glasgow. Keith was always on the look out for something new and loved to seek new challenges for himself.
He then became part of the team with Fusion Insurance followed by Towergate and Brightside Group and then finally starting up Accelerate Underwriting with Scott.
Social side of things, Keith was always a very good footballer and golfer. We enjoyed our weekends together and our family holidays and we were most looking forward to starting holidaying without the kids.
When we moved into Wemyss Bay, December 1998, we became part of the village. Keith became involved with the Ardgowan Football Development where he helped to coach kids from age 5 to 12 years and he loved doing this, especially coaching the ones who were frightened of kicking a ball to becoming great players.
We had a great life and he worked very hard for his family, who he loved very much, his children and me were his first priority and we miss him dearly.
